| Tributes paid to Lala Hans Raj Mahajan | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 9: A large number of members of Mahajan community paid their rich tributes to Lala Hans Raj Mahajan on his 145th birth anniversary in a function held here today.
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta (MLA), was the chief guest on the occasion while Vinod Gupta , president of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, presided over. All the office bearers and several prominent members of the community (Biradari) were present on the occasion.
Several prominent personalities and officials from the community were honoured by the Sabha on this occasion. Several other persons and students were also honoured for excelling in their respective fields. Earlier Vinod Gupta president of the Sabha in his welcome address highlighted the achievements and works of Sabha, undertaken during this year. He lauded the performance of children and other members of the community for the society. While speaking Prof Gupta recalled the contributions of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan for the community and also for people of Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed for unity of the community and suggested to organize marriage functions in a very simple way.
