| Panthers demand CBI probe into Yusuf’s death | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 9:Panthers party today staged a dharna in front of Raj Bhawan Jammu in support of the demand to hand over the investigation of the mysterious death of Haji Yusuf in custody in Kashmir on September 29 to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The party leaders sitting on dharna also demanded dismissal of Omar Abdullah’s government and imposition of Governor Rule so that an impartial and independent inquiry may be held without delay.
The Panthers party workers welcomed the decision of the party Chairman Prof Bhim Singh that he would knock the doors of the Supreme Court in this regard if the inquiry of the case is not handed over to the CBI.
The prominent Panthers party activists who sat on dharna include Anita Thakur state General Secretary, Bansi Lal Sharma Political Advisor to NPP, Jagdev Singh Coordination Secretary, B.B Kotwal.
In the meantime, a memorandum to the Governor NN Vohra, was submitted demanding his immediate intervention under section 92 of the constitution of J&K as the constitutional machinery in J&K has failed and Governor rule is the only answer in the interest of rule of law and democracy.
