205 J&K Haj pilgrims leave for Jeddah

Srinagar, Dec 8
A total of 205 Haj pilgrims, including 94 women, from Jammu and Kashmir left here for Jeddah in a special flight today.
The pilgrims were seen off at the Srinagar Airport by senior officials of the state administration and the Haj Committee. With this, a total of 4483 people from Jammu and Kashmir have proceeded on the Haj pilgrimage so far.
From tomorrow, two special Haj flights would be operated from here to Jeddah to airlift the additional 4000 pilgrims. About 10,674 pilgrims from the state would be able to perform the Haj this year as compared to 9,200 in 2005.
