4 held with 23 bovine animals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 09: Foiling two attempts of bovine smugglers to carry cows and oxen to Kashmir, police arrested four persons along with 23 animals in Udhampur today. Police sources said at Jakheni checking point, police arrested two persons while they were smuggling 12 animals in a truck. The truck and the animals were seized and the accused arrested. The accused were identified as truck driver Abdul Hamid Lone, son of Ghulam Qadir Lone of Budgham, and Muzaffar Ahmad, son of Mohammad Shafi of Anantnag. Two smugglers were apprehended near Kheri in Udhampur in the wee hours of Sunday while they were carrying 11 animals to Kashmir on foot. They were identified as Mohammad Rafi, son of Abdul Gani Gujjar of Beli Charana, and Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Maitra, Ramban. Cases were registered against the accused at the concerned police stations.
