BJP joins movement launched for passage of shrines bill
10/9/2011 9:29:16 PM
JAMMU, Oct 9: The movement launched by All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) received a shot in arm after BJP also supported the movement. BJP MLA Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria today joined the hunger strike launched by APMCC chief Vinod Pandita at Press club Jammu.
Besides Khajuria, Kudan Kashmiri, President Kashmiri Pandit conference (KPC) also joined the hunger strike along with his supporters Tej Dhar and Rajoo. Mr. Kashmiri came from Delhi this morning to support the movement launched by Mr. Pandita and supported by six Dogra organizations including Dharmarth Trust, Sangarsh Samiti, Kranti Dal, Ram Sena , Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh , Shiv Sena Hindustan and Freedom Fighters Association & Dogra Liberation Front.
These leaders resolved to continue the movement till the six point charter of demands is conceded by the government. With open support of BJP the agitation launched by APMCC has gained a momentum. Addressing the gathering at Press Club Ashok Khajuria said that his party will fully back the movement as enactment of law to preserve Hindu Shrines and Temples was need of the hour. He fully justified the APMCC demand regarding grant of permission to Hindus from state to visit holy Sharda Mata Temple in POK.
Supporting the APMCC Kundan Kashmiri said it is not known why Government was delaying the enactment of law for management of shrines and temples in valley when the bill has been introduced 6 years back in assembly. Vinod pandita warned those organizations of KPs who have not come forward to support the agitation and said that people irrespective of their political affiliations should support the agitation.
Rampaul while extending his full support said no longer the encroachment of shrines and temples land will be allowed. Pritam Sharma urged government not to tolerate the patience of the people and enact the law as early as possible. Ved Gandotra and Ram Sena Chief appealed the people to join the movement launched for a noble cause by KP and Dogra organizations jointly.
