If Omar forgot, what were his advisors doing?
Rishi political payoff
10/9/2011 11:43:32 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 9: State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has made a startling revelation which generally went unnoticed. Defending himself on the NDTV, Omar Abdullah admitted one of the key eye witnesses, Abdul Salaam Rishi had told him of the Rs.34 lacs he had paid to Haji Yousuf for getting Rishi an MLCs seat.
Omar Abdullah told NDTV that Rishi had told him about the money transaction two months back, but the whole issue had slipped off the Chief Minister's mind!
How can a serious allegation like this slip off the mind of a Chief Minister who otherwise has ample time to post his views on the twitter site almost on a regular basis?
What is more essential than the matter slipping off the Chief Minister's mind is the fact that none of his high profile advisors reminded the Boss of the serious allegation during the last two months? Or is it that the Chief Minister did not share the allegation with even his advisors? Both ways it is a very serious matter which needs to be explained a little more logically.
The Chief Minister is assisted by his council of ministers in addition to two important advisors. It is the duty of the advisors whose political wisdom has been proven during the last three years to remind the Boss of anything and everything that is important to the governance of the State.
If the Chief Minister forgets anything, after all to forget is human, the advisors are supposed to ensure that all important issues are refreshed for the memory of their Boss. Unless the two advisors are busier than the Chief Minister, they must explain whether the CM shared the information with them or not. If the CM has not even shared this information with his advisors then he must do better than blame the memory of a youngman who remembers everything that must be posted on the twitter site.
