DC Kishtwar flags off tour of farmers to Himachal Pradesh. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar Oct 10:- Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik along with Chief Horticulture Officer Kishtwar Pyar Singh Manhas today flagged off seven days tour of farmers Himachal Pradesh which was organized by Horticulture Department Kishtwar. Under this tour, the group of 23 farmers especially orchardists hailing from different areas of Kishtwar District are being taken outside state tour under the Scheme Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEH) for the year 2011-12 under the component HRD for training/ study tour & exposure visit to different institutions of state of Himachal Pradesh like CSKK Palampur, IHBP Palampur, RHRS Mashobra Simla & Y.S Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry Nauni (Solan) starting from 10th and concluding on 16th of October 2011. These farmers will be imparted training/ delivered lectures from Sr. Scientists of these institution in the field of fruit growing. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik while addressing the farmers imparted upon them to avail the benefits of mission horticulture which according to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has vast scope in Kishtwar District. He said that government is ready to provide all possible help to the fruit growers of the District by providing them fruit bearing plants on subsidized rates. He advice the farmer to cash in the experience during their visit to state of HP, so that after their return, they will be able to teach the techniques to other people in their native villages. Malik directed CHO Kishtwar to arrange meeting of all the farmers with him at his office complex at the time of their return so that he can share some experience from them.
