Vinod Pandit’s indefinite hunger strike enters 4th Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 10: The indefinite hunger strike of Vinod Pandit and Sunita Sharma today entered 4th and 3rd day respectively even as Vinod has lost considerable weight while Sunita Sharma is also showing signs of weak health with fears that their condition might begin to deteriorate as they complete 80 and 60 hours of continuous fast tonight respectively. However despite the fact that majority of Jammu based organizations including VHP and BJP have extended full support to the hunger strike the government as usual has been ignoring the agitators as no government representative has cared to visit the spot and try to enquire their welfare. The indifferent attitude of the government has given rise to deep resentment among Jammuites who feel that government always ignores them whenever they raise any demand which favours Jammu. In the meanwhile scores of rural women belonging to Rural Women Foundation assembled at the hunger strike venue to show solidarity with their leader Sunita Sharma, President Rural Women Foundation, whose hunger strike entered 3rd day today and raised slogans in favour of their demands and against the lackluster attitude of the state government. These women activists alongwith other leaders of Jammu based organizations who are supporting Vinod Pandit and Sunita Sharmas indefinite hunger strike near Press Club Jammu have appealed the masses of Jammu irrespective of their party affiliations to come out in open support of the Indefinite Hunger strike as the issues highlighted in 6-point charter of demands concerns all the Hindus of J&K as well as rest of the world.
