| R & B department officials react to news item published in ET | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar Oct 10:- Officials of Roads and Building Department Kishtwar have reacted to the news item published in ET under titled as “Substandard work of R & B department gets exposed”.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) R & B Division Kishtwar Babar Hussain Ahanger said that the work of blacktopping is still in progress on many road projects in Kishtwar division which includes the roads like Kishtwar-Pochhal and Asrarabad road as well. Ahanger said that the work of blacktopping is still incomplete and no payment has been made to the contractors so far.
He said that during execution of work some buffer patches were develop and said that at the time of the inspection of the road we have already bring the matter into the notice of contractors about such patches with the direction to repair those patches.
He said that as soon as they get information from the local populace, they called the contractors and directed them to remove all the bottlenecks.
He assured that only after proper checking, they will make the payments to contractors. He said that leakage in PHE pipes is also a matter of great concern and said that the water leakage causes major damage to blacktop on roads.
He said that despite repeated request to PHE department, they didn’t come up with proper plan to save its pipes from water leakage.
