PHE daily wager dies of rabies after over 2 months of dog bite | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 10: A PHE daily worker, who was bitten by a dog nearly 2.5 months back
at his residence at Kamila in Samba, died last evening of rabies. Police sources said Balwan Singh (46), a daily wager in PHE department, was sleeping
outside his mud house at Kamila about 2.5 months back when a dog bit him on his
face. Though he got himself treated next day, he developed symptoms of rabies yesterday.
The family shifted him to Samba district hospital. From there, the doctors referred him
to the GMC hospital here. As the disease was in advanced stage, the doctors at GMC hospital said he could not
be treated now. Sources said he died last evening while he was being shifted to an ayurvedic doctor. He
was extremely poor and is survived by his wife and two children
