| VHP expresses concern over prevailing situation in J&K | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 10: State unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has expressed concern over the prevalent situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the backdrop of the death of National Conference (NC) worker Haji Muhammad Yusuf.
Addressing a press conference, VHP state president Ramakant Dubey said that it is matter of concern that high office of Chief Minister has got involved in the alleged custodial death of the worker.
“It’s not new that money power has always been playing its role in politics, the two other companions of Yusuf are speaking in the open about the involvement of both Omar and his father Farooq Abdullah of taking money to given MLC seats”, he alleged.
He said that showing the highest standard of moral values Chief Minister should have resigned immediately.
Dubey said that in order to make way for fair investigation, Omar should resign and hand over the seat to
Deputy Chief Minister till the inquiry report finds the reason for the death of Yusuf.
VHP has also criticized the role of Governor N.N Vohra in the whole episode and has said that, Vohra silence over the matter is matter of surprise.
“Investigation cannot be free and fair till Omar retains the portfolio of CM and Home Department. There is every likelihood that attempt would be made to alter the evidence”, he alleged.
