DIG reviews Range Level Sports Festival arrangements

JAMMU, OCTOBER 10- To review arrangements for smooth conduct of Range Level Sports Festival commencing from 17th October, 2011 at Mini Stadium Parade Ground, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu Kathua Range, Mr. Farooq Khan convened a meeting of senior officers of health, police, Information, education, youth services & sports, municipality, PHE, PDD and other allied departments here this afternoon.
It was informed in the meeting that this mega event will be held in Mini Stadium Parade wherein various teams of different sports from Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts will participate. Besides, Song and Drama Division and Cultural Academy of Art, Culture and Languages would perform cultural items on the inaugural and conclusion ceremonies to make the event more attractive and colourful.
Mr. Khan said that technical committees have been constituted to organize the festival in a well organized manner. He stressed upon the concerned agencies to organize, the most liked game, wrestling in such a way that it would attract overwhelming participation of the general public as well as sports lovers.
He asked the Information Department to give wide publicity to the event through print and electronic media. Besides, the PHE and PDD authorities have been asked to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply at the venue. He directed the concerned agencies to ensure elaborate arrangements for comfortable stay of the sportspersons especially female participants coming from other districts. He exhorted upon the officers to work in a coordinated manner to make the sports festival a grand success. He informed the meeting that the refreshment, boarding and lodging arrangements have also been made by the concerned departments besides transport facilities would also be made available for convenience of the players.
The officers assured the DIG that they will make foolproof arrangements well before the commencement of the sports festival for hassle free conduct of the event.
Among others, SSP, Jammu, Mr. Anil Jain, Joint Director Information, Mr. Soujanaya Sharma, SP, North, S. J.S. Johar, SP South, Mr. Rajeshwar Singh, SP, Headquarter Jammu, Mr. Shallender Singh, SP Headquarter, Mr. Kulwant Singh, SDPO, West, Mr. S.K. Chouhan, Dy. SP, DAR, Dsitrict Police Line, Mr. Sanjay Sharma and other senior officers of various departments also attended the meeting.
