Police raids HM Supreme commander's residence | Delhi High Court blast probe | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Oct 10: Kishtwar police conducted a raid at Kishtwar residence of Hizbul Mujahideen Supreme Commander Jahangir Saroori located on the outskirts of Kishtwar town. According to reports, police party led by Dy SP Headquarter Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary along with the members of Quick Action Team conducted a raid at family residence of Jahangir Saroori at Waza Ghawari some three kilometres from Kishtwar town. When contacted Dy SP HQ Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said that acting on a tip off about the movement of Saroori in and around his residence, Kishtwar police cordoned off the area late last night and conducted the raid at suspected place which yield no result as Jahangir Saroori had left the area before police party could reach the spot. He said that reports indicate that he had come to attend some marriage function in the vicinity of his residence. Senior police officer said that Saroori is wanted in many criminal cases across Kishtwar District, beside he (Saroori) is also being suspected by NIA team as main suspect in Delhi High Court blast. He said that efforts were on to either apprehend Saroori or to neutralize him. It is worthwhile to mention that 52 years old HM Supreme Commander Jahangir Saroori is being probed in Delhi High court blast by NIA for his alleged involvement in supplying the explosives to the culprits involved behind triggering the blast in which 15 people were killed and as many as 80 others got injured. |
