‘NC getting intolerant to PDP criticism’
Observation on Anna as ‘RSS man’ uncalled for
10/11/2011 1:41:45 AM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 10: The war of words and bickering between NC and PDP is continuing unabatedly. While the PDP in capacity of principal opposition party is whipping up and pointing out at certain aspects which appear relevant in the existing scenario, ruling NC , it looks is not ready to take anything nor stand the criticism in the wake of controversy with regard to bribe giving practices as alleged by the one of the party workers in ruling party. Ironically, NC is not even ready to tolerate or accommodate as a matter of suggestion that Anna Hazare who led the crusade against corruption, mooted by PDP. At least that is what the statement issued by senior leader Dr Mustafa Kamal indicates.
Ever since Dr Kamal has been appointed Additional General Secretary and spokesman of the National Conference , he has not only been giving hard hitting statements against the rival party but actually countering their statements on the lines of 'tit for tat' or to say 'paying them in similar coin', rather than taking the criticism in healthy spirit and responding in a politically mature manner. According to a statement Dr Kamal has given today, he says Peoples Democratic Party had lost its agenda and had become politically bankrupt. So far so good. But he has gone beyond that where his words and uttering's reflect that instead of attacking PDP as 'frustrated and desperate lot' NC itself is getting entangled in the cobweb of frustration which its seasoned leaders like Dr Kamal reflects by making out of context and uncalled for uttering's.
"They are sacrificing their rhetoric of 'self rule' and requesting RSS backed Anna Hazare to come to J&K. Demand of the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to seek Hazare's intervention in the affairs of the state is both surprising and confusing particularly in view of the recent revelation of his RSS connections," Dr Kamal said in a statement. Attacking opponent is good but it has always to be in perfect context and ground as well. When PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is asking for Anna Hazare's intervention or attention towards what is happening in J&K, she is not wrong.
It is for Dr Kamal, a family member of Abdulla's to understand that in the wake of revelations that have come to fore with regard to huge money exchanges within the party, no matter these are yet to be corroborated by the NC high command and top brass, these only indicate the level of political corruption in the state. This is something which Anna and his team has been fighting against and their movement is still continuing countrywide. It is no secret Anna has tremendous acceptability and credibility across the country for his movement against corruption. It is quite surprising that Dr Kamal using the political vocabulary like RSS backed……outsider etc for a man who is respectable man not only at the national level but also gained popularity world over .
The statement like …."On the contrary Mehbooba wants Anna to come and guide us as to how we have to tackle the menace of corruption. This clearly shows she has lost faith in the people of the state and is now looking for the help from outsiders and compromising their own 'self rule' that they have long forgotten in their quest to grab power……….,", only suggests it is not PPP but NC which is losing the grip over the things and getting nervous to the extent that their statements now reflect perfect example of 'pot calling kettle black'. Dr Kamal has said Chief Minister has created an example by exposing corruption by going in for a transparent open mechanism rather than hushing it up or pushing it under the carpet which clearly shows the intent of the Chief Minister and his determination to cleanse the social milieu of the state from the menace of corruption. This may be true but by out rightly negating or dismissing the suggestion of seeking Annas intervention does not augur well for a party which has yet to come clear on allegations of corruption.
