| Awareness camp for ladies about breast cancer | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 11: Rathore foundation organized one day awareness camp sponsored by life long learning department, University of Jammu at lower Barnai.
The resource person Kanchan Kour consultant breast surgeon of Medanta cancer institute Gurgaon, delivered her invaluable lecture on awareness of breast cancer which is spreading in the society rapidly.
She said that, most of patients reach for treatment at a very advanced stage which touches her heart so she thought of bringing awareness on this disease at an early stage & gave detailed instructions of self examination.
She checked up about fifty ladies individually to their satisfaction. A very few of the ladies were sent to Medical college O.P.D’s for further diagnosis
The chairperson of the society Indira Rathore & Poonam Dhawn director Continuing Education, University of Jammu also spoke on the occasion and emphasized the importance of strong awareness campaign among ladies.
They also talked about female foeticide and women empowerment. Priyanka Katoch from women’s study centre was also present.
Gillo of the area extended his whole hearted support to the camp.
