Rates of bricks in Jammu district notified | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, OCTOBER 11- The district administration Jammu today notified the rates of various qualities and makes of bricks. The sale rate of class “B” quality of bricks has been fixed at Rs. 2990 per thousand at kiln site (local tax extra), class “C” quality of bricks at Rs. 2645 per thousand (local tax extra) , while the rate of “Tiles” has been sanctioned at Rs. 3105 per thousand (local tax extra. The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, in terms of Section 13 of the J&K Brick Kilns (Regulation) Act 2010, read along Notification SRO 152 dated 18-5-2011, issued the orders. The order directed that the quality of bricks shall be consistent with the norms/ standards fixed by the Indian Bureau of Standards. The freight charges from the brick-kiln to different destinations shall be the same as may be notified by the competent authority from time to time and over charging on account of sale rate and or transportation, if any, shall render the defaulting brick-kiln owner liable for punitive action under law, besides cancellation of licence. The Brick Kiln owners shall also adhere to the directions that they shall display the rate list and stock position of bricks/ tiles class wise at their business premises and shall issue Vouchers to every buyer with a spare copy to carrier indicating the class of bricks, price charged etc. They shall submit off take statement to the Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Jammu indicating class wise total bricks manufactured, sold and closing balance at the close of the month in duplicate. The brick kiln owners shall get the samples approved by the design Directorate and keep the approved samples in the office of Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Jammu, District Superintending Engineer Jammu, Deputy Controller Legal Metrology Jammu, Assistant Director CA&PD Jammu and concerned Tehsildar. The samples and result of test of the samples shall also be submitted to the office of Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Jammu (Rural). Daily stock/ sale register shall be maintained by each brick kiln owner. They shall record full name, address of the buyer to whom class wise bricks are supplied and shall display in bold letters at the Kiln site, the name of the kiln, the stock position of the day and tags displaying stock and rates of brick (class wise).
