| DIC Doda organizes Debate, Cultural programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, OCTOBER 11- Creating awareness among the people of the District Doda especially student community living in far flung and remote areas regarding conservation of safe drinking water sources, District Information Centre Doda today organized a Debate on the topic “ Water Pollution” in the Government Girls Middle School Suhanda.
Om Kar Bhagat Headmaster GMS Suhanda was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as, 18 students drawn from different classes participated in the Debate competition and expressed their valuable views on the topic. They said that methods and habits needs to be changed to save water from getting contaminated at the sources . They said that various water born diseases cause loss of various precious lives all across the state and country. They urged upon the people of the area to adopt safe drinking water habits to preserve and make water pollution free.
Mr. Sanjeet Kumar of class 6th was adjudged as 1st while as Umar Farooq also of class 6th and Miss Mamta Devi of class 8th were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Debate competition.
Later after the Debate Competition a colorful cultural programme was also presented by the Information Department Doda which mesmerized the audience on the occasion. The artists presented their songs in Bhaderwahi, Siraji, Urdu, Kashmiri and Dogri which kept the audience spell bound. The artists who participated in the cultural programme are Milkhi Ram Mastana, Shehzad Ali, Beer Singh and Maan Singh Maan besides other local and budding artists also participated in the programme.
Later certificates and trophies were distributed among the students who participated / excelled in the Debate competition by the Chief Guest.
