| DDC Kathua hold meet to discuss Diwali | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, October 11 : The arrangements and preparedness for ensuing Diwali festival, a meeting was convened by District Development Commissioner Kathu, Zahidha Parveen Khan at Kathua .
She directed the authorities concerned to keep a strict vigil on the sale of the fire crackers and keep a check on whether the shopkeepers are following the guidelines laid down for the purpose .
She directed the fire and emergency services department to keep the fire tenders ready to meet any eventuality.
She said that a committee headed by ACR will keep a check on the quality and rates of eatables, sanitation, and encroachment in market places and other busy places in the town.
She directed the Executive officer Kathua to educate and aware the masses about the safety measures to be taken to celebrate and enjoy Diwali festival safely. She directed the PDD and PHE to ensure an un-interrupted power and water supply on the occasion of Diwali.
She also passed instructions to PHE to keep the water tankers ready in case of water scarcity in any area. She also passed instructions for the smooth flow of traffic during the festival. She directed the CMO Kathua to keep the ambulances ready and sufficient stock of life saving drugs to meet any eventuality.
Among others ADC Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal, ACR and CPO Kathua and representatives of various departments were present in the meeting.
