| Kashyap Sports Club elects new office bearers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: Kashyap Sports Club, J&K held its annual election in a meeting of its executive forum, here today.
Meeting was attended by almost all the office bearers as also the executive members of the club. Rajesh Dhar, who was holding the post of General Secretary, was unanimously elected as the President of the Club, while B N Bhat, who was President of the Club, was named as Patron. Rakesh Pandita, who was Joint Secretary, has been elevated to the post of General Secretary, while Rajeev Pandita and Vinod Koul will hold the posts of Senior Vice President and Treasurer respectively.
Ajay Raina will be the Technical Advisor while Sanjay Raina will perform as organizing secretary of the Club. M.K.Pandita and Omesh Raina were nominated Joint Secretaries, while Satish Raina will hold the post of Secretary Press and Publicity. It may be recalled that Vijay Bakaya is Patron-in-Chief of the Club, while Dr K.L.Chaudhary is Chairman.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Club has organized more than ten tournaments in Jammu since its inception in the year 1990, among which Lajwanti Memorial Cricket Tournament has remained an annual feature for a period of seven years from 2001 to 2007. Other prominent tournaments organized by the Club included Tamar Cup, Rohit Dogra Memorial Cricket Tournament, Kashyap Tetragonal Cricket Cup and Lajwanti Memorial Double Wicket Cricket Tournament.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, the newly elected President of the Club said that a mega T20 Cricket Tournament will be held soon in Jammu and added that a 15 member squad will be selected for an exposure tour outside the state to be organised in the month of November.
