APHCC hunger strike enters 6th day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, October 12 : : The indefinite hunger strike of APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit and Sunita Sharma entered 6th (132 hours )and 5th ( 108 hours)day respectively with both of them losing considerable weight while the health condition of both is also fast deteriorating. However the government is still in deep slumber as no government representative has yet tried to contact the agitators to listen to their demands. Meanwhile showing deep resentment against the government for ignoring the aspirations of Jammuites the activists of All Parties Hindu Coordination Committee (APHCC) supporting the All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) indefinite hunger strike, which was constituted the other day staged a massive protest demonstration in front of the Press Club carrying placards highlighting their demands and denouncing the government for not taking Hindus seriously. Around 50 women activists of Rural Women Foundation from Ghari Gharh also joined the protestors to show solidarity with Vinod Pandit and Sunita Sharma in their struggle to achieve the desired goals. Addressing the protestors the Core committee member of APHCC Vikas Deewan said that government has been acting as mute spectator for the past so many years even as some unscrupulous elements within the community have usurped the massive wealth of temples and shrines in Jammu and Kashmir Valley. The main demands include probe into the multi-crore temple/shrines land encroachment in J&K, passing of the pending Temples and Shrines Bill for J&K in Legislative Assembly, establishment of Shardha Peeth University in J&K , dialogue with Pakistan for facilitating visit to Shardha Peeth in POK , one time compensation for over-aged youth and special employment package for resident Hindus of Kashmir Valley.
