The press conference was held to highlight the various demands. They said that they have come to know that someone has applied for seeking information under RTI Act, 2009 regarding Muslim migrants, but because of being Political migrants, we can not disclose our identity as well as our resident addresses Jammu Kashmir Migrants from Kashmir Valley regard, we would like to submit that we have doubt about these persons who are seeking information from the Relief Department. It is apprehended that such information , if revealed to these persons, will be served to various militiaman’s organizations IISI active in Kashmir Valley to cause undue harm to our community members.
They said that the Muslim Migrants have played vital role during elections in 1996, 2003 and 2009, which have caused irk to the militants organisations, thereby resulting in migration of Muslims. All these Muslims are Political Migrants. These Muslim Migrants were not in a position to seek good studies being regular candidates in Jammu City, so they were forced to pass out their studies as private candidates in Jammu (Srinagar). They also added that the Government has framed an Apex Committee for the genuine demands of migrants but due to unknown reasons, no person from Muslim Community was considered in the Apex Committee.
They also said that the Government has allotted residential quarters to Kashmiri Pandit Migrants only at Muthi, Nagrota and Jagti Township, but Muslims migrants are still deprived of such relief.
They further said that for seeking the benefit of Government job for migrants as per the advertisement of Government jobs through SSRB, there is a necessary requirement of Migration Certificate, but the Relief Commissioner is not interested to issue Migration Certificate in favour of Muslim Migrants.
