LJP expresses concern over hike in fuel prices | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 12: LJP has expressed their serious concern over the hike in fuel prices and essential commodities. In a meeting held at Ramban the State working President, Sanjeev Manmotra, and National General Secretary, Dalit Sena, Anil Kumar Bhagat jointly said that the main cause of Price hike is large scale corruption in centre sponsored schemes where there is no check by the Centre in these schemes. Hardly 20% is invested and the rest goes to the pockets of the concerned departments, they alleged. Party has asked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister J&K State for drafting an effective and meaningful policy to fight the corruption in high offices of the state being noticed as the breeding centers of this big evil and depute a special team for investigating all centre sponsored schemes in J&K State. They alleged that the ruling alliance makes hollow announcements regarding equitable development but does nothing practically. If the Chief Minister and his team of Ministers is sincere let it start with delimitation of constituencies so that equal funds are allotted to all parts as per the ratio of population and as per the degree of development already reached. The constituencies in cities of Jammu and Kashmir get disproportionate share while all others especially those of rural areas of both the regions are grossly ignored. The main thrust of the developmental activities is on two main cities of Jammu & Srinagar. They further alleged that all the schemes under NREGA are being auctioned to the private contractors, mostly party agents. All the central schemes for development in the rural areas have been dumped into dustbin. The situation in rural areas is terrible as there is no drinking water, non availability of medicare facilities, electricity, poor telecommunication and road net work besides shortage of staff and infrastructure in government schools hospitals /dispensaries etc. The party leaders alleged that coalition government has failed to deliver goods to the public.
