‘RTI effective tool against corruption’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: ‘Right to Information (RTI) Act’ can prove to be one of the weapons to fight corruption. This was stated by Dr. Permendra Singh, a senior member of Kshitij Foundation – ‘a Non Governmental Organization’, on the occasion of students and teachers awareness programme-cum-workshop on Right To Information (RTI) Act organized by the NGO at Dati Todi Memorial Higher Secondary School , Ratanal district Samba. He made the youth aware about RTI act and its utility. According to Dr. Singh most of people especially our youth /student are not aware of the RTI act and further stressed that the same should properly be utilized by each and every citizen in order to erase the injustice and corruption prevailing in our society. He also discussed in detail technical aspects of RTI and said that this act has been implemented across the country as well as in Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, he appealed the government of Jammu & Kashmir to overcome these drawbacks. He said that the objective of Kshitij foundation is to apprise people about RTI and to help them to use this act. Shunita Bangotra (Principle), Anuradha Khatri , Ranbeer Lal Gupta ,Shital Sharma, Monika, Preti, Avinash were also present on the occasion.
