| Dehi Majlis the only mechanism to identify BPL families: Jugal | | | Jammu, Dec 8 Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma has said that a new chapter has been written in the Jammu and Kashmir when dynamic, prompt and earnest friend for people Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad took over as Chief Minister of the state. He was addressing a public meeting at Dansal in Nagrota Assembly Constituency. He said this has happened for the first time in the history of State of politics that a Chief Minister from Jammu Division has taken over who has vision to bring prosperity to all the three regions of the state and ensure equitable development for all areas. This, he said, has been possible with the visionary leadership of UPA Chairperson Ms. Sonia Gandhi. He said during last over one period the development scenario in the state has taken a new turn everywhere and results are very discernable on the ground. Mr. Jugal further said that Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken bold decision and created new 8 districts, tehsil and sub-divisions and added the step has been taken keeping in view the aspirations and urges of the population which has increased many fold since the day Wazir Commission was constituted. Referring to the demands projected by various people of the block the minister assured that their genuine demand would be looked into sympathetically and in some cases he issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers of different departments present on the occasion for necessary action. The Minister said that “Dehi Majlis” the only mechanism for identifying prospective beneficiaries for various Centrally Sponsored schemes would be made mandatory in future in every far-flung and rural areas of the state. Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Assistant Commissioner Development (RDD) Block Development Officer, Dansal, Senior Officers of different departments besides large number of people were presented on this occasion.
