Sagar announces Rs 1 cr for construction of manholes in city

Srinagar, Oct 13: Equating peace has one of the major parameter for carrying on sustained development, the Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that people should understand this reality and come forward and contribute their bit in making the state prosperous and most developed one.
The Minister was interacting with scores of deputationists during his extensive tour of the old city to oversee the status of implementation of various developmental programmes initiated by the government. Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Sheikh Mushtaq, and other senior officers of PHE, UEED, LAWDA, R&B, PDD besides district administration were also present.
Sagar while inspecting the pace of work of on the community halls at Rozbal Khanyar and Aabi Nowpora being constructed within estimated cost of Rs. 1.20 crore and Rs.1.15crore respectively. He directed the officers of the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on these projects, so that the people living in the catchment areas get benefitted from these.
The Minister also inspected the Pavilion being constructed at Zindshah Stadium Rainawari being estimated cost of Rs. 85 lakh and hoped that the youth of the area who participate in different sports would not feel any inconvenience viz a viz the sports facilities as well as the infrastructure needed for the same. He also inspected the pace of work on the Slaughter house being constructed by Srinagar Municipal Corporation within estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh.
Sagar also directed the officers of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to renovate the lanes and drains at Mughal Mohalla Khanyar within the shortest possible time. He also directed them to ensure the overall cleanliness of Srinagar City in view of the heavy influx of the tourists visiting to these heritage areas.
The Minister also announced Rs 1 crore to the UEED for construction of manholes in the city. So that the flow of drainage is regulated in a proper manner and pedestrians also don’t face any inconvenience.
