EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 13: The combined side of PG Departments of University of Jammu shall be playing against Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) College of Engineering and Technology to defend the men’s table tennis title in the ongoing inter-college competitions at GGM Science College, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, MBS College defeated Government SPMR College of Commerce 3-2 in a well contested game. The Results: Singles: Tanveer Singh lost to Tushar Khajuria 13-15, 7-11, 12-14; Gurvinder Singh bt Nitin Singh 11-6, 11-8, 13-11; Varinder Singh bt Prabjot Singh 11-7, 4-11, 12-10, 11-7; Gurvinder Singh lost to Tushar 11-9, 10-12, 8-11, 10-12; Tanveen Singh bt Nitin Singh 11-8, 11-8, 11-3. In other semi-final, PG Departments outplayed Government Degree College Kathua 3-0. The Results: Singles: Sandeep bt Nitish Kumar 11-3, 11-3, 11-5; Taresh Baru bt. Abhishak Sharma 11-9, 11-5, 11-6; Rohit bt Dheeraj Kumar 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7. GCW Parade to meet ASCOMS Meanwhile, in women’s table tennis event, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade shall take on the defending champions, Acharya Shrichandra College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) in the final tomorrow.
In the semifinals, played today, GCW Parade trounced Government Degree College Poonch 3-0. The Results: Nitani Bakshi bt Guneet Kour 11-9, 13-11, 13-11; Divya Bhogal bt. Prablin Kour 11-8, 11-8, 17-15; Bhumica Jamwal bt. Divya Raina by 11-8, 11-6, 11-9.
On the other hand, ASCOMS qualified for the final uncontested after other teams in the group failed to turn up.
