CB presents challan against Naib-Tehsildar

Jammu, October-13 :- Crime Branch Jammu today presented challan in the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu against Naib Tehsildar Mohd Asgar Bhat for demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 from the complainant for preparing revenue record for the land of the complainant.

According to the complainant Chain Singh filed a complaint before the Court of CJM Jammu, the same was sent to Crime Branch for registration of the case. Crime Branch holding a preliminary verification into the matter contents of the complaint are that the complainant Chain Singh and accused Mohd Asgar Bhat both originally hails from Mahore Area of the District Reasi. The complainant has constructed a house on a piece of land measuring 8 Marlas at Bhau Jammu about 10 years back and in the year 2006 the complainant met with the suspect at Tehsil Office Jammu as the complainant had gone their to apply before the authorities concerned for inclusion of his name in the revenue record of his land and house. Accused Mohd Asgar Bhat who was attached in the office of Joint Agrarian Reforms Commissioner Jammu, on knowing the of the complainant asked complainant to pay a sum of Rs 20,000 for affecting the entry of his name in the revenue record as the amount is required to be deposited in Govt treasury as fee of the documents. The complainant paid Rs 20000 to him. The accused handed over documents of said land. In the first week of February 2006, the documents mentioned above contained the signature of the Patwari Halqa and Tehsildar Jammu.

The complainant in the month of November 2006 went to the Patwari of the area and when he showed the documents to the Patwari, complainant was stunned to know from the Patwari that these documents were fake and false and were never issued by him or Tehsildar Jammu. On this Crime Branch registered a case and arrested Mohd Asgar Bhat and during the interrogation the accused admitted his fault and told that the documents in question which he handed over to the complainant were prepared by him and were in his own hand-writing. The accused was later on released on bail granted by the Court and today after completion of the investigation presented challan.

The court fixed November 13, 2011 for arguments on Charge.
