Political empowerment of all the three regions only solution: JBA

Jammu, Oct 13: Two days central executive committee meeting of Jammu Bachao Andolan (JBA) concluded here today under the chairmanship of Wing Commander, Retired G.L. Sharma.
The main focus of brain storming deliberations on 2nd day in the meeting was on key issue of creating awareness among the masses about the discrimination being meted out to Jammu region.
It was also disclosed in the meeting that the interlocutors also admitted discrimination with the Jammu region, though not to the full extent, as prevailing and also as reported by J&K Finance Commission member Swami Raj Sharma in his separate report submitted to the Government.
Political empowerment of all the three regions of the state i.e. Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in a just manner is the only solution for this problem.
It was unanimously resolved in the meeting to write letters to all the members of Parliament and legislators of Jammu and Kashmir to sensitize them to enact legislation for delimitation and appointment of Delimitation Commission for assembly and parliamentary constituencies to give due representation to Jammu region.
After thorough deliberations in the meeting, it was also resolved unanimously to seek information / data under Right to Information Act on various topics and to disseminate information to public, to seek statements of ill gotten properties of all the members of Parliament and members of Legislatures of Jammu and Kashmir.
It was also decided in the meeting that the Jammu Bachao Andolan will use Right to Information Act as a tool for eradication of corruption.
JBA will strive to give wide publicity and disseminate information obtained through Right to Information Act to public.
A special team of members comprising of M.S. Jamwal, Satish Sharma, H.S. Baloria and Chauhan was also constituted to prepare draft for obtaining information / data from different departments of the State Government, which shall be placed for approval in the special meeting of the Central Executive Committee to be held on Sunday, the 16th October, 2011.
Prominent among those who participated in the deliberations included Ashok Sharma, M.S. Jamwal, Satish Sharma, R.S. Jamwal, O.S. Chauhan, Vishal Chopra, Devinder Singh Jamwal, H.S. Baloria, Beli Ram Thakur and S.K. Sharma.
A two minutes silence was also observed to pay tributes to late Satish Parkash, secretary finance of the JBA.
The meeting ended with final resolve to keep on fighting against corruption, discrimination with Jammu region and illiteracy.
