| Mehbooba condemns attack on Parshant Bhushan | | | EARLY IMES REPORT
Srinagar, Oct 13: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned attack on senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan and demanded stringent action against the culprits who were involved in this incident.
President of PDP Mehbooba Mufti said that broad day assault on Parshant Bhushan, a senior advocate and human rights activist in his chamber was undemocratic and highly condemnable act which had to be disapproved by any one believing in freedom of speech and democratic values.
Mehbooba Mufti said right to express one’s views is a fundamental right in the democracy and any attempt to curb it through illegal and strong arm methods was fascist and undemocratic.
She said that Parshant Bhushan had expressed his views on Kashmir in a peaceful, civilized and democratic manner.
The intolerance shown by the attackers is against the spirit of the democracy and civilized society. She further said that any views on Kashmir should not be treated a taboo.
