| Skill Development Programme for Handicraft artisans, craftsmen concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, 14 October :A Series of five Training cum Skill Development Programmes for artisans/ craft persons concluded at JKEDI Jammu campus today.
The programme was jointly organised by National Centre for Design and Product Development (NCDPD) and JKEDI to enable participants to upgrade the existing skill and to add additional skills to handicrafts artisans and craft persons in order to increase cluster competitiveness leading to sustainable and inclusive development of the cluster spread all over India. The first programme commenced on 12th September, and the fifth and last one concluded today on 14th October, 2011.
Each programme comprised of Six (6) technical sessions on (a) Quality, Social Compliances & Testing, (b) Design Development, Design Trends & forecasts, (c) Computer Operation, AutoCAD and Computer Designing Marketing (International and Domestic), (d) Management, characteristics of an entrepreneur, (e) Micro Finance, SHGs/Federation of SHGs and (f) NABARD Schemes
The series of programme were coordinated by Ms Priyanka Mahajan, Asst Faculty JKEDI.
With 20 participants in each programme, a total of 100 participants were covered. Gafoor Khidir, Dy. General Manager, NABARD, Jammu, J&K distributed the certificates to the participants at the concluding sessions.
