| Cop shot at in Teilbal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Oct 14: Suspected militants shot at and critically injured a police constable on the outskirts of City on Friday afternoon.
Reports said Constable Sajad Ahmad (No 896/IRP 19th Bn) was shot when unidentified pistol-borne persons shot him in the head at Tailbal Adda, Hazratbal here when he was on duty.
The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura where his condition is reported to be critical.
The attack came when thousands of devotees were returning to their homes after offering Friday prayers at the Hazratbal shrine. Police and security forces rushed to the scene and launched a hunt to nab the assailants.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
