| Taj, Soz tour Gurez | | 22 WSSs worth Rs. 8 cr under execution in the area | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Oct 14 : Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi ud Din, alongwith, PCC, President and Rajya Sabha member, Prof. Saifuddin Soz conducted an extensive tour of Gurez sub division.
During the tour, the Minister visited far off areas like Tulail, Dawar and Bugtor.
Addressing public meetings at several places, Taj asked people to co operate with the Government which has unleashed a massive developmental agenda in the State.
The Minister said now that the Panchayats have been empowered and Sarpanches elected, many problems of people would now be solved at local level only. He asked the newly elected Sarpanches to effectively mobilize people to address their developmental needs.
In his address, Prof Soz impressed upon for equal development of all the regions of the State. He warned the disgruntled elements who are out to harm the stability of the coalition Government. He said the liberal assistance is being given to the State by Centre for completing the developing projects in the State.
During the tour the Minister took stock of the various works in hydraulic sector under execution in the area. It was given out that 22 water supply schemes are under execution in the area out of which Rs. 1.80 crore have been expended till March this year. This also includes seven schemes under tribal sub plan valuing Rs. 2.38 crore.
Former Minister, Usman Majeed also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
