APHCC appeals Team Anna for support; hunger strike enters 8th Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 14: Determined to continue its fight in support of its 6-point charter of demands, All Parties Hindu Coordination Committee today made a direct appeal to team Anna Hazare seeking their support for the ongoing indefinite hunger strike launched by Vinod Pandit and Sunita Sharma from October 7 & 8 respectively. APHCC has assigned the task of contacting Team Anna to New Delhi unit of All Parties APHCC has also sent a fax to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and National Minority Commission (NMC) over the silence adopted by the government after the agency sought a report in this regard. Addressing the gathering at the venue of Indefinite hunger strike today the core committee member Karnail Chand today made a fervent appeal to Dr Karan Singh, sole trustee of Dahrmarth Trust to lend his support to the cause suggesting him to dissolve the councils of Dharmarth and announce proper elections so that transparency is maintained in the temples and their properties to contain corruption at religious places. Karnail Chand said that being the representative of the last royal family he became the sole trustee of Dharmarth and has also the duty to further the mission of his fore fathers who had setup a department for the maintenance of temples and shrines of J&K adding their constitution was clear that whosoever indulges in corrupt practices at religious places must be dealt with severely. He said that Dr Karan Singh must act like a true son of the royal family and help their cause in seeking temple and shrines board for J&K as well as probe into multicrore scandals in temple properties and land encroachments. Karnail Chand also informed that APHCC has organised a Karva Chauth Puja at the venue at 6 pm by the ladies of Jammu who have lend their support to Sunita Sharma as she will be continuing her indefinite strike even on the occasion of Karva Chauth and invited all the ladies to attend the historic function to safe guard their cultural and religious heritage in the state.
