JAMMU, Oct 14: Defending champion, Government MAM College shall be playing the host GGM Science College in the final of inter-college football tournament here tomorrow.
In the semi-finals of the competition, played today, Science College outplayed equally good side of Government SPMR College of Commerce 6-4 in tie-breaker.
Earlier, in the stipulated time, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Commerce College took the first lead when Suriya netted the ball for first goal in the 10th minute of the match. The lead was well maintained by Commerce College. However, Rahul brought in an equalizer in the last minute of the game thereby forcing the organizers to decide the fate of the match through tie-breaker.
In tie-breaker, Balpreet, Abinash, Teg Bahadur, Muneer and Sahil were successful from Science College. From Commerce College, only Tespak, Sunil and Muqeem could dodge the goal-keeper.
Later, in the second semi-final, the better side of MAM College defeated the combined side of PG Arts by a solitary goal. Today’s semifinals were officiated by Suresh, Gagan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, T Joshi and K Barua.
Now, the final is scheduled to be played at GGM Science College at 1 pm tomorrow.
