| DDC visits remote villages | | |
JAMMU | DEC 8 The District Development Commissioner M.R Thakur along with team of officer visited number of remote villages of Mandi block to inspect the development works under construction and meet the public DDC inspected the construction of 20 bedded ward in sub-district hospital Mandi which will cost Rs. 2400 lacs. The DDC passed orders to R&B deptt. to complete the ward by end of current financial year for the convenience of the patients. A Fatehpur village on the representation of the public that K.oil is not being supplied as per the norms, the DDC suspended the license of Yar Ali and directed consumer affairs department ensure the provision of 5 latrs K. oil per family every month. The DDC also took up the matter with director consumer affairs for arrangement of levy sugar of the current month well in times so that public would get sugar on the eve of Eid festival. DDC showed satisfaction while inspecting the park which is being developed at Khole Lapara in Fatehpur village which will cost 2.35 lacs. At Biala village the met public disposed off number of representation on spot while directing the concerned officers for appropriate action. The DDC also inspected the sub centre Baial which was locked during office hours. The block medical office Mandi was directed to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. The DDC also paid surprise visit to Govt. middle school Kalani attendance and found fice teachers posted in school have availed more than the permissible amount of leave and have been away from the school allegedly on official duties for more than twenty days on average. It appears that the teachers hardly attend the school for 130 days during the full educational session. He directed ZEO Sathra to hold an enquiry an charge sheet the teachers.
