Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah has lost faith of the people because this regime has failed to give justice to the common masses. Party further observed that National Conference led regime has crossed all limits of corruption and common masses were bearing brunt of prevailing corruption in the administration.
Addressing a protest demonstration organized by the women wing of the party against rampant corruption in the NC and State Government, senior PDP leader Vijay Dogra today said that one and only noticeable achievement of the present dispensation was legalizing corruption. The rally which started from Dogra Chowk passed through different localities of the city before it was intercepted by the police at Vivekanand Chowk where PDP activists entered into a scuffle with police. The protestors were carrying effigies of state government and ruling National Conference which were garlanded with fake notes symbolizing the rampant corruption and misgovernance under the present Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his party National Conference.
Dogra while addressing the protestors said that during the last three years Omar Abdullah led regime has crossed all limits of corruption. She mentioned that gruesome murder of NC worker Haji Yosuf has exposed what has been going in this government as well as in the ruling party. She regretted that instead of properly investigating the matter to give justice to the bereaved family, this government has been adopting all means to hide the case. She said that Haji Yousuf death has also exposed how deep the corruption has been gone in the government as well as in the ruling party.
Taking a cue from the reports that huge amounts were paid to the NC leaders for becoming Ministers or MLCs, she said that how common people can expect justice and fairness from that party which has been indulged in such corrupt practices. She asserted that PDP would continue its agitation against this worst every corrupt regime.
The protest which was organized by Vijay Dogra, was also addressed by Sushila Jamwal, Anju Bhan, Geeta Thakur, Parveen Akther, Mumtaz Begum, Neelam Gupta, Suriya Begum, Ajit Kour and Indu Kumari.
