| JAN INAUGURATES MULTI UTILITY CENTRE AT POONCH | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
MLA Poonch Ajaz Ahmed Jan laid the foundation stone of Multi Utility Centre at Village kanuiyan in Poonch. The Multi Utility Centre will be constructed at an earliest cost of Rs. 8 Lakhs under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF).
Speaking on the occasion Block Development Officer Ponch Aijaz Qaiser, KAS presented the welcome address and explained in detail the basics of the scheme and its implementation on ground level. He highlighted the achievements of the Department so far and the targets in the current financial year under various central and state sponsored schemes implemented through Department of Rural Development.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Sarpanch Kuniyon Saraj Din, Bagh Hussain Rathore sarpanch Islambad and Manzoor Hussain sarpanch Karmara.
MLA while speaking on the occassion appreciated the role of Rural Development Department in reaching out to the public and providing ample opportunities of employment be it wage employment or self employment. He also congratulated the officers and men of Rural Development Department for raising visible and desirable assets on ground and changing the face of Rural folk.
He said that the coalition Govt. headed by Jenab Omar Abdullaha in general and Jenab Ali Mohammad Sagar Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development Department was kind enough to consider Poonch District amongst a hand few BRGF districts in state and this has led to free flow of funds in the District raising infrastructure and also bridging critical gaps.
He stressd upon the role of panchayats representatives Sarpanches and Panches for effective and useful planning under MGNREGA as per the aspiration of their people. He welcomed the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Jenab Omar Abdullaha for issuing directions to the PWD to take projects in convergence with MGNREGA for effective implementation which is already in practice in Poonch District where Department of Horticulture, Irrigation and flood control already doing a commendable job in convergence with MGNREGA.
