| Martyr constable given warm adieu | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Emotional scenes were witnessed when senior police officers joined other ranks to present a guard of honour to Sajjad Ahmad Parray, a constable of Indian Reserve Police (IRP), who was killed in militant firing at Hazratbal.
The body of Sajjad was brought to Police Control Room (PCR) here from S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) where he was admitted after he was shot at and critically wounded by militants yesterday. Constable, survived by his parents, brother and three sisters, was hit in the head from very close range at Hazratbal.
To bid adieu to the departed soul, a Guard of Honour was presented to the Sajjad, which was followed by wreath laying ceremony. Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone S.M.Sahai, Dr. B.Srinivas, Inspector General of Police, CID, Rouf-ul-Hassan, Inspector General of Police, Armed/IRP Kashmir and other senior police officers participated in the ceremony.
