Local administration must act in an impartial manner: Satish Sharma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 15: Bhartiya Janta Party state general secretary & prabhari Udhampur-Kathua parliamentary constitutency Satish Sharma has charged the local administration of Bhaderwah of working on communal lines and failing to ensure safety and security of the members of minority community. He expressed these views after receiving detailed information from the party cadres of Bhaderwah about the present tension in the town. Referring to the recent incident which created communal tension in the town, Satish Sharma said that the timely action by the local administration could have calmed the people but as past practice, the administration only awakes when the situation takes an ugly turn. Satish Sharma said that whatever the lecturer of an educational institution said on a particular issue should have been gone through properly and make the agitating people aware of what the lecturer wanted to convey. Merely some words from a teacher from a particular community should not be interpreted otherwise with a motive to provoke the sentiments of other community. He said that the members of the minority community in Bhaderwah and surrounding towns are feeling insecure. Sharma also denounced Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s demand for action against the lecturer involved and said that the anti-national elements should avoid from fishing in troubled waters. Sharma said that the administration should take immediate and effective steps to restore the confidence of the government employees hailing from other areas of Jammu province who have been posted in hilly belt of Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar. He expressed hope that the administration would act in an impartial manner and see to it that the minorities are not harassed or forced to migrate to safer places leaving behind their homes and hearths like the Kashmiri Hindu migrants
