RR unit distributes furniture

Doda, Oct 15: 10 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput) under the aegis of HQ 4 Sector Rashtriya Rifles has recently handed over a bulk of school furniture to Govt Middle School at Fantayana (Kunhad) on Oct 11.
Based on the aspirations and long outstanding demand of the teaching staff of the school and local population of Fantayana (Kunhad), essential furniture items have been provided under the project Operation Sadhbhavna to Govt Middle School of Fantayana (Kunhad).
It comes as a much needed respite for the school children who were until now sitting on the floor while attending classes, even so in the extremities of the harsh winters in this region. Not only are the children now at ease, but also are the teachers who do not have to remain standing throughout their lectures any more.
The project for provision of essential school furniture was undertaken by 10 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput) Battalion under the aegis of HQ 4 Sector Rashtriya Rifles to uplift the standards of essential facilities in the rural areas under their jurisdiction under “Operation Sadhbhavna ”. The various furniture items such as mica topped tubular desks and seats for students, table and chair for teachers, plastic cane weaving for seat & back rest, steel almirah, dustbins steel and black board with iron easel have been provided.
Addressing the students and staff of the school, Major Munish Sharma, company commander Kunhad post emphasised the importance of education and environment required for the children to carve out their career and stressed upon students to become responsible citizens of the nation and to follow the right path with the foundation of good virtues and social values.
The principal of the school, staff, students and their parents thanked the 10 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion(Rajput) for all the assistance provided by them.
The locals while thanking the Army, assured them of their continuous support to further strengthen the bond between the local populace and army.
