| Legal Metrology realizes Rs. 28,000 from traders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, OCT-15:- In a continuous drive to protect consumers interest, a inspection team headed by Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Udhampur, Mrs. Anita Sharma inspected various commercial establishments at various places in Udhampur.
A fine of Rs 4000 was charged on a cement factory owner, Rs 8000 on two wine shop owners, Rs 3000 on a renowned sweet shop owner, Rs 3000 on a spice factory owner, Rs 5000 on a gas agency owner and Rs. 5000 on a dealer of weight & measures for violation of Weight and Measures Laws.
In total, a fine of Rs 28, 000 was realized. An amount of Rs 31,600/- had been recovered from 18 traders as composition money till date of this month.
Further, the Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Udhampur has directed the traders to use only verified weighing instruments and to sell the packages with mandatory declarations of MRP, net weight packed, complete address of the manufacturer and packer along with the consumer help line number. |
