| Notorious drug peddler arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 15: Jammu Police in its continued drive against drug menace apprehended a drug peddler at Bishnah and recovered 1510 intoxicant capsules from his possession.
After developing specific information Bishnah police today organised a special naka on Mehmoodpur Chowk and apprehended a notorious drug peddler/drug addict namely Rakesh Kumar son of Hans Raj resident of Kanahal Bishnah and recovered 1510 intoxicant capsules from his possession.
During questioning it transpired that the said Rakesh Kumar used to go to Pathankote on Bus for bringing the intoxicant capsules from there and sell it to the local youth of Bishnah area. The present consignment of 1510 intoxicant capsules was also brought from Pathankote and was meant for distribution among the local youth of Bishnah.
It is pertinent to mention here that upon inputs that drug peddlers are pumping intoxicant capsules from its neighbouring state Punjab to Jammu and youth are indulging into other crimes after the intake of drugs, a special drive has been launched with a clear cut direction to all SHO’s to keep eradication of this social evil from the society on top of their priorities.
A case FIR No. 146/2011 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police station Bishnah and further investigation is going on.
