Bovine smugglers with arrested, 24 animals recovered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 15: Udhampur Police in its continued drive against bovine foiled a bid of bovine smuggling by arresting three bovine smugglers who were smuggling 24 bovine to Kashmir valley on foot here today. Based on an input, a Police Party of Police station Chenani laid a surprise naka at National Highway near Samroli during wee hours of toady and intercepted three bovine smugglers who were smuggling 24 buffalos to Kashmir valley. All the smugglers identified as Farooq Ahmed son of Sona resident of Harog, Ramban, Gh. Navi son of Gh. Hassan resident of Harog, Ramban and Bashir Ahmed son of Chirag Din resident of Miran Sahib, Jammu were arrested on the spot and bovine were seized. In this connection, a Case FIR No. 108/2011 stands registered at Police Station, Chenani. With the recovery of these 24 bovine animals, Udhampur Police has rescued 376 bovine animals during the recent drive launched against Bovine smuggling.
