“Samarth Ko Naahi Dosh Gusaii” adjudged Best Play

Jammu , Oct 1: “Samarth Ko Naahi Dosh Gusaii” a play in Hindi staged by the Govt. Women College, GandhiNagar, Jammu, was adjudged as the Best Play in the on going “Display Your Talent” 2011-12 organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium. “Bobby” a play staged by Trikuta Degree College and “Baba Jittmal” a play in Dogri staged by the Trikuta College of Computer Science & Management Studies, was adjudged as Second and Third Best Play, respectively.

The Play titled “Hawai Gole” by Govt. Women College, Parade, Jammu, fetched Certificate of Merit.

In individual Prizes in Female category, Meenakshi Sharma from Trikuta Degree College bagged the Best Actress Award for character “Bobby” in play “Bobby”. Priyanka Raina from GGM Science College, Jammu for “Mother” in Play “Jago Bandhu Jago Baiya” and Harmeet Kour from Trikuta College of Computer Science & Management Studies, for “Bua Kodi” in Play “Bawa Jittmal” bagged the Second and Third Best Actress, respectively.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Akriti Sharma and Surbhi Balgotra from Govt. Women College, Parade for their performance as “Opposition Neta” and “Payal” in Play “Hawai Gole”.

Individual Prizes in Male category, Rasleen Kour for character “Seth” and Shailly Angural for character “Jamura” both from Govt. Women College, GandhiNagar in Play “Samarth Ko Naahi Dosh Gusaii” bagged the Best Actor and Second Best Actor award for their acting, respectively whereas Mukesh Kumar from Department of Physics, University of Jammu for “Udhghoshak” in play “Shrishti Ka Akhri Adami” bagged the Third Best Actor.

Harish Kataria, Mandeep Kaur and Sahib Singh, were the adjudicators for said event.

Dr. Parmeshwari Sharma, was the Teacher Incharge and read rules and regulations.

Prof. G. Mustafa, Head, Department of Zoology and Dean, Biological Sciences, University of Kashmir, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and distributed the prizes amongst the winners.

Among others, Prof. Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Vijay Atri, Vinay Thusoo, Public Relations Officer, Rani Kumar, Pooja Langeh, Rawinder Kour, Hardeep Singh, Teacher Incharge from various Affiliated Colleges and Students, were also present on this occasion.
