7th J&K science congress concludes at JU | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 14: Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik today said that scientific solutions are necessary for improving quality of life. He was addressing valedictory Session of 7th J&K science Congress. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof. Varun Sahni presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Malik greeted the organizers and the participants of the Science Congress and said that such multidisciplinary meet are necessary for making the roadmap for better understanding for the planet earth. He said that as the economy is growing, the proper attention must be given to science and technology. He emphasized that scientific solutions are necessary for improving quality of life. He also presented best paper awards to the participants. Prof. Varun Sahni, in his address said that the Science Congress must be a regular annual feature for the University of Jammu and the University of Kashmir with the fixed schedule. He said that the purpose of organizing such Science Congress is to make Science attractive for the society. Prof. Sahni congratulated the organizers and the fraternity of the University for organizing the Science Congress. 7th JK Science Congress (7JKSC-11) concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Professor Kuldeep Sharma, Co-organizing secretary of the Congress. Earlier in the day, distinguished and eminent speakers Dr.A.K.Trag, Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Chakradhar Mahapatra, General Manager, Geology KDMIPE, ONGC, Dehradun, Prof. V. K. Jain, School of Environmental Sciences, JNU, New Delhi and Dr. Abhijit Mukherjee, Director, Thapar University, Patiala – delivered plenary lectures in Gen. Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex under the Chairmanship of Professor Varun Sahni, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu.
