Madal Tigers Kishtwar wins T-20 Cricket final at Kishtwar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar Oct 15: Mandal Tigers Kishtwar won T-20 Cricket tournament final organized by 74 Battalion CRPF played today at Chowghan ground Kishtwar. Elected to bat first after winning the toss, City Warriors Kishtwar started its inning by scoring at brisk rate and crossed the 100 run mark in 12 over with 7 wickets in hand, but with the brilliant bowling spell from Ikhlaq Ahmed who registered his bowling figure 4/18 in 4 overs, Mandal Tigers Kishtwar manage to put hold on the scoring of City Warriors Kishtwar and restricted them on 147 runs in 19.2 overs. Mubassar Hussain of City Warriors Kishtwar remained the top scorers of City Warriors Kishtwar with 35 runs in which he hit five boundaries followed by Arshad Hussain who scored 26 runs with one six and three boundaries. While chasing the score of 148 runs, Mandal Tigers Kishtwar put pressure on City Warriors Kishtwar right from the beginning as a result of which the Mandal Tigers Kishtwar started on high note mixed with good luck as City Warriors Kishtwar dropped as many as 3 simple catches. Karan Sen, the captain of the team himself came for opening and made a good score of 22 with one six and four boundaries before he got out. Capitalizing on the good start from his Captain, Asif Hussain continued its best batting performance and remained top scorer with 40 runs with four boundaries followed by all-round performance of Ikhlaq Ahmed who scored 24 runs with three huge sixes as a result of which Madal Tigers Kishtwar won this glorious final by 5 wickets with 16 balls to spare. Thousands of people from different walks of life turn up at Chowghan ground to witness the final match. Ikhlaq was adjudged as man of the match in final for his all round performance while Owais Ahmed of Mandal Tigers Kishtwar for his best performance were adjudged as Man of the series. He took 10 wickets and scored 36 runs with bat in 3 matches including two hattrick. At closing in ceremony Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik handed over the winning trophy to the captain of Mandal Tigers Kishtwar along with Rs. 15,000 Cash Prize and Assistant Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Thakur Kubir Singh handed over the runner up Trophy and cash prize of Rs. 10,000 to the runner team. Singh also announced the dates for Police Martyrs Cricket Tournament to be play at the same venue from 19th of October 2011 in which 32 teams from different parts of the Jammu province will clash for the trophy. On this occasion trophies were also distributed to Man of the Series and Man of the Match.
