Yousuf was a whistleblower, says BJP leader | 'Death' a conspiracy to silence him......? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 15: BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Member National Executive Dr. Jitendra Singh has said Syed Yousuf Shah was a whistle blower who could have disclosed several important facts regarding the sale of MLC seats and ministerial berths going on for several years under the patronage of National Conference led coalition government. BJP leader's comment on Deceased NC worker Syed Yousuf 's possible role as a whistle blower a day after the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh indicated that country may soon have Whistle Blowers Act to protect those using Right to Information Act.However, Dr Singh's statement assumes importance in the wake of what he has underlined that Yousuf's death could be a part of the conspiracy to silence him and therefore requires an impartial inquiry. Like other political observers and politicians in the opposition camp, Dr Singh is apparently hinting at what has been in the circulation that Yousuf used to 'collect' money in huge amounts from aspirants of prestigious political posts and then allegedly hand over the same to the party high command. What some key witnesses have confided alos indicates that there were rates fixed for each post and the money amounting approximately to Rs 84 lakh was collected from two persons for securing them berths of MLC and ministry. All this information post his death stands in public domain but it was a secret until he was summoned by CM at his residence. The point is argument of the BJP leader is that Syed Yousuf, contrary to what Abdullahs are denying outrightly was knowing not only this matter (pertaining to two persons from within the party having given money and Yousuf having received it) but many more such secrets of similar nature where money chaging hands was involved. Needless to say, the BJP too, asserts that Yousuf was 'very close' to the NC high command particulary Abdullah family which gets reflected and revealed on ample ocassions .It is probably that during the course of heated discussion with CM in presence of other leaders, Yousuf probably threatened to 'expose' what had remained a secret matter hitherto which infuriated the other side. Dr Singh emphasizing the need for CBI inquiry said in the backdrop of these facts, it cannot be ruled out that Yousuf became a victim of the conspiracy to 'silence' him for ever so that truth doesn't come out. |
