Jalmeria concerned over farmers’ plight | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 16: Hari Chand Jalmeria advocate general secretary & spokesman of J&K National Panthers Party has expressed concern over the plight of farmers. This year, they have good harvest of paddy but the Govt. has made no arrangement for its procurement, particularly in district Kathua. They are left to be exploited by the private businessmen in the field. He asked the State Government to make immediate arrangements for paddy procurement in district Kathua at the rates announced by the Govt. Jalmeria further showed his concern over efforts of Cong-NC coalition in the State to cover up the corruption and criminality of death of Haji Yousuf which directly points towards the Chief Minister and the higher police officials. The common people are fast losing faith in the present dispensation which has no care for the rule of law. He demanded CBI inquiry into the episode and resignation of the Chief Minister. Jalmeria called upon the people to celebrate 27 October as accession day of the State with Union of India. Panthers Party is holding celebrations in all districts in the state and Jalmeria appealed people to join the celebrations. Commenting upon the Interlocutors’ report, Jalmeria said that the Panthers Party has demanded reorganisation of the State with separate Assemblies for Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu with different chief ministers. The Secretariats should work round the year in these provinces and recruitments, planning, delimitation should be separate. Jalmeria was joined by Ravinder Singh Pathania Kathua district president NPP and Rajinder Singh Manju(state secretary NPP).
