Jammu, Oct 16: Morning Walkers Association today honoured a noted tree lover Manjeet Singh.
A mechanic by profession, Manjeet Singh has earned the reputation of an environmentalist and planted more than 1000 trees single handedly on the bunds of Tawi river.
His efforts have converted the circular road Jammu in a lush green strip with many types of trees, both medicinal and tropical.
It is a delight to see Neem, Bilv Patri, Bihunia, Amaltas trees etc on the stretch between D C office and Panj Tirthi Circular road.
In a function organized today, a large number of citizens gathered at circular Road behind D C office Jammu to honour Singh, who was presented with a trophy depicting his noble deeds.
Prominent among who were present on the occasion included Prem Saraf,
Nagar, Mohd Saleem from SKUAST, K K Sharma Director Flouriculture, Devendra Sharma G Secy Van Sampda, and Bakshi of JSB Society.
