1966 martyrs remembered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 16: Remembering the sacrifice of 1966 martyr’s Gurcharan Singh, Brij Moha, Gulshan Honda & Subash Chander, NSS unit of GGM Science College paid a humble tribute at Shaheedi Sthal in College today. Early morning about 100 volunteers gathered at Shaheedi Sthal under the guidance of programme officer Rajinder Singh. On this occasion NSS Commander Rohit Kumar and Navjot Bakshi were also present. After that the floral tribute was given to the martyrs by the programme officer and volunteers. Volunteers raised slogans like “Hamare Shaheed Amar Rahe”. A five minute silence was observed in their remembrance. The programme officer addressed the volunteers that they should aware the youth to stay away from anti-national activities and always be ready to serve the nation. He also praised the bravery of martyrs who died for the right of students. He also added in his address that we should learn a lot from them. The volunteers took pledge on the Shaheedi Sthal that they are always ready to serve the nation as such as their motive to aware the society about evils such as drug addiction, corruption, environment, pollution, violence etc. They stressed over the youth power and the youth power should be channelised in a right direction for the welfare of society and nation. Other who were present included Prikshit Bali, Gulshan Thappa, Darpan Khajuria, Partap Singh Jamwal, Vijay, Rohit, Neeraj etc.
